MOV'EAST [special project]

About the project
When a dream comes true…

It was one of our dreams when we were kids. Looking at world map, we were dreaming about going further east, where countries are so big… Now, this is reality. USSR is not anymore compared to our childhood, but countries are still big. And still far, still unknown for us.
Our aims? Meeting people, discovering their daily life, sharing it as much as possible by being involved in the current tasks. In other words, we want to avoid behaving like tourists in a hurry, and we want to have time to get integrated, at least a bit, into the local community. Are we idealists? Surely. But we are not that naпve that behaving as a pure travellers/backpackers we will always bring a great benefit to the people we meet. Still, we do believe that cultural mix and exchange is, in any case, some kind of personal wealth. When people get to know each other in real life, by sharing something concrete together, the better then they understand each other. We do believe in that.
Here is our spirit, right now, just about starting our tour. Maybe, it might change regarding people we meet, and places we visit. The same for our itinerary… We will see how it goes. With these travel notes, we invite you to follow our adventures, our troubles, personal feelings, happiness and all that kind of strong emotions specific for such experience.

By the way, maybe some additional words about us. We are two 27 years old French guys from the western part of France called Bretagne. Both of us are very interested in Slavic countries and culture. Yogui has lived for 3 years in Slovakia, working as a French teacher and he also wrote some guidebooks about his adoptive country. Pierre has been living in Ukraine, working as a journalist for this on-line magazine Open it! for about 2 years. Some months ago, both of us realized that time has come to make our childhood dream true. Today, we are on the road…
