Discovering Ukraine, for international guests, is not an easy thing. Being a tourist in Ukraine is like everywhere else, rather simple – discovering the real Ukraine is definitely not. For the foreign visitors, going off the beaten track requires organization and somehow a taste for adventure.
With the “Open it! UA” project, our international team is aiming at bringing back, from all the corners of Ukraine, some original, unique reports and stories. We hope that thanks to this work, we offer the foreign visitors new perspectives and angles about Ukraine – far from the usual stereotypes and clichés frequently associated in the West with this still badly known country. Actually, these materials are the keys – our keys – for entering and for better understanding of the real Ukraine.
Discovering Ukraine, for Ukrainian people, can be full of surprises. Locals usually think they know their native land, so when the time comes to plan a vacation, they are tempted to buy tours to go abroad. Seeing Paris is a wonderful idea, no doubt, but have they really seen Ukraine? Some really have. Still, the “Open it! UA” project brings new perspectives that make Ukrainians literally open their eyes to their own country and its realities. Thus, it definitely gives better understanding of their Ukraine.
